Comcast Bite of Seattle®
Event Production/Sponsorship and Fulfillment/Event and Technical Staffing/Media and Marketing
The Comcast Bite of Seattle® is our flagship event and is the jewel in the Festivals crown! What started in 1982 as a 25-restaurant event in Seattle’s Greenlake Park has grown into a Seattle summer tradition at Seattle Center in the heart of downtown. We create the Bite on 72 acres of park space, buildings and public art. The event is built among these permanent structures and wide expanses, and takes place while permanent tenants of Seattle Center are still conducting business.
The Bite hosts over a half a million visitors over three days on the third weekend of July each year. Nicknamed “the Northwest’s Premier Restaurant Showcase,” the Bite’s main focus is the culinary talents here in the Pacific Northwest, but also offers so much more. Aside from the over 60 restaurants featured at the Bite, visitors also enjoy nine entertainment stages, live cooking demonstrations with the city’s finest chefs, a Washington State Wines wine tasting, a Family Fun Zone, an arts and craft bazaar and many sponsor tours and promotions. The Comcast Bite of Seattle® also has strong charity ties with Food Lifeline and the Culinary Arts Promotion Association and we have created fundraising events within the Bite that benefit these and other worthy causes. The Comcast Bite of Seattle® celebrated 28 years in 2010, and we’re expanding and adding new attractions every year!
The Comcast Bite of Seattle® is truly a turn-key event for participants of all categories, as we are committed to complete planning, construction and execution of all aspects of the event. We contract all food vendors and sponsors for the event and have a partnership with Seattle Center for other aspects of the festival, including but not limited to facility rental, move-in and set up procedure and insurance needs.
We handle all aspects pre-event production from marketing outreach to contract writing and fulfillment for sponsors to application creation and menu consulting for food vendors. The official event program is written by us and is distributed in the city’s largest newspaper the week of the event. On site, we handle every part of the festival: not only the large aspects like overall event supervision, media inquiries and public interaction, but also less-known elements of a successful festival such as parking lots, health department questions, grounds maintenance etc.
